DR CLAUDIA NICHOLSON

General Practitioner,

MBBS FRACGP Prof. Dip. Skin Cancer Med.

After serving the local community as a General Practitioner for the past 25 years, Claudia is returning following an  8 month sabbatical with renewed enthusiasm, having had time to explore, develop  and ensure her personal, health and professional values and goals continue to align.

In this time Claudia completed a Professional Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine. Having had first hand experience of the consequences of early life sun exposure, and as a keen runner and ocean swimmer herself, she is an advocate of a preventative and proactive approach to reducing the effects of sun damage in our outdoors and sports loving nation.

Claudia has recently returned from working as a yoga & meditation instructor in the area of mental health (addiction and trauma) management overseas, and regularly up-skills in the area of mental health and yoga teaching to support both the physical and mental wellbeing of her clients. Claudia is comfortable combining evidence based medicine in the General Practice setting with the openness, attentiveness and compassion that underlines yoga philosophy in a holistic approach to healthcare.

With a love of the environment and animals, Claudia, her husband and her 2 feisty dachshunds spend quality time plant-based cooking and surfing at their south coast home away from home. The importance of community to Claudia  is evident in her participation in the Milton & Ulladulla Symphony Orchestra (bassoon), and her involvement in the German speaking community as she continues to inch her way forward in developing fluency in this challenging but rewarding language. She is very much looking forward to joining the dedicated team at Woollahra Family Medical Practice.
